FAQ

Is the ISS live camera really live?

Usually. When the live feed is unavailable, for example during loss of signal or crew activities, NASA may show a 'Previously Recorded' label or a blue or black screen until the live view returns.

Why is the screen black?

The station orbits Earth about every 90 minutes, so roughly half of each orbit is on the night side. Black usually means night or a signal gap.

Who runs this stream?

NASA. It is a public NASA stream on NASA's YouTube channel; T-ZERO only embeds it and is not affiliated with NASA.

Can I see the ISS from the ground?

Yes, it is often the brightest moving object in the night sky. NASA's Spot the Station lists passes for your location.

When is the next flight to the ISS?

Soyuz 2.1b | Progress MS-36 (97P), Nov 23, 2026, 11:03 PM CST.
