Where the Starship flight tests stand

Starship is SpaceX's fully reusable two-stage rocket: the Super Heavy booster and the Starship upper stage. Every full-stack flight so far has been a numbered test flight from Starbase in South Texas. Launch Library 2 lists 14 full-stack Starship flights so far; the most recent was Starlink Group 31-1 (Starship Flight 14) on 2026-09-28 (Success). Next in the data: Starship | Flight 15, November 2026 (date TBD).

A Starship date firms up late. SpaceX needs the booster and ship stacked and tested, an FAA license or license update for the flight profile, and local road and beach closures: Highway 4 and Boca Chica Beach close for testing and launch, and closure notices are often the first public sign of a launch date. Even after a date is set, a flight can slip day to day for weather, upper-level winds or vehicle issues.

FAQ

When is the next Starship launch?

The next Starship launch is Starship | Flight 15, November 2026 (date TBD), from Orbital Launch Pad 2, SpaceX Starbase, TX, USA. That date is a target, not a confirmed launch day.

Is the Starship launch date confirmed?

Not yet. SpaceX usually confirms a Starship date only days ahead, after the FAA license and range notices; until then the date here is a target.

Where does Starship launch from?

Starship flies from SpaceX Starbase at Boca Chica, near Brownsville in South Texas. A Starship pad is also being built at Kennedy Space Center LC-39A in Florida.

Can I watch a Starship launch in person?

Yes. South Padre Island and Port Isabel across the bay are the usual public viewing areas; Highway 4 and Boca Chica Beach close for launches. See our Starbase where-to-watch guide.

Where can I watch Starship live?

SpaceX streams every Starship flight on its website and X account, usually starting about 30 to 45 minutes before liftoff. The launch page links the stream when announced.

Why do Starship dates move so often?

Starship is still a test program. Each flight needs the vehicles finished and tested, an FAA launch license or license update, and range and road closures at Starbase, and SpaceX often changes plans after reviewing the previous flight. Until those line up, any date is a target.

Will Starship launch from Florida?

SpaceX is building Starship launch sites in Florida at Kennedy Space Center LC-39A and Cape Canaveral SLC-37. No Florida Starship launch date is in the data yet; when one is listed it will also show on the Florida launch schedule.

How current is this page?

It is rebuilt automatically from Launch Library 2 every time the feed refreshes; last rebuilt Tue, Nov 3, 2026, 8:37 PM CST. Starship dates slip often.
