Public viewing at Alcântara, Brazil
Public viewing: None or restricted No public viewing area; the site is restricted or closed to spectators. Watch the official stream.
The Alcântara Launch Center is a Brazilian Air Force base with restricted access. A 2025 cooperation agreement opens it to organised visits by local students, not to the general public, and we found no public launch-viewing area.
- A 2025 agreement between the Brazilian Space Agency, the launch centre, Alcântara town hall and the aerospace department opens the centre to visits by students of the municipality's schools: a video presentation and a tour of the launch platform. It does not open the base to tourists.
- For the first commercial launch (Innospace Hanbit-Nano, Dec 2025) the operators and the Air Force provided a public live stream. G1 reported that the launch could be seen with the naked eye from the skies of Alcântara and part of São Luís; we found no designated viewing area.
- Alcântara town has a public aerospace culture house with exhibits; check opening hours locally.
Official and primary sources for this label
If you cannot be there: Innospace and the Brazilian Air Force streamed the first commercial launch. The launch page lists the webcast when Launch Library 2 has the link.
Stay out of restricted zones. Launch sites, safety zones and military areas are closed on purpose; entering them, or photographing them where that is banned, can bring fines, detention or worse under local law. Only use viewing places that the site operator, the local authority or an accredited tour operator names, and follow staff and police instructions.
