T-ZERO Launch tracker

Can you watch launches from Sohae and Semnan?

North Korea and Iran · Public viewing: None or restricted · No public viewing spots. Last verified 2026-10-02.

North Korea's Sohae station and Iran's Semnan space centre are closed state sites. We list them so that, if a launch from either appears on T-ZERO, you can see the honest answer straight away: there is nowhere to watch, and you should not travel to try.

Public viewing at Sohae and Semnan

Public viewing: None or restricted No public viewing area; the site is restricted or closed to spectators. Watch the official stream.

Neither site has any public viewing. Both are restricted state facilities, travel to North Korea is severely restricted, and watching or photographing sensitive sites in either country can be treated as a serious offence.

Official and primary sources for this label

If you cannot be there: If these launches are announced, state media or the launch provider may stream them. The launch page lists a webcast only when Launch Library 2 has the link.

Stay out of restricted zones. Launch sites, safety zones and military areas are closed on purpose; entering them, or photographing them where that is banned, can bring fines, detention or worse under local law. Only use viewing places that the site operator, the local authority or an accredited tour operator names, and follow staff and police instructions.

Upcoming launches

No launches with a firm date from this area in the current data.

There is no public viewing area here, so we do not give a crowd estimate. Each launch page lists the official webcast when Launch Library 2 has one.

Map

The map is optional. Loading it contacts OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which sees your IP address; nothing loads until you press the button. Every spot is also listed below the map.

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Tiles by OpenStreetMap, used under its tile usage policy.

Viewing spots

None. We list no viewing spots for this site because the public is not given a place to watch from. Coordinates from Wikipedia; approximate. Shahroud is not in our data. No launches from these sites were in our feed on the verification date; this page exists so a future launch has an answer.

Travel advisories and local rules

Governments advise strongly against travel to North Korea and Iran for many nationalities. Read your own government's current advice.

Entry rules, permits and security conditions differ by country and change. Read your own government's current travel advice before you plan a trip around a launch.

Safety

Do not travel toward either site. Detention risks for foreigners are real, and photographing sensitive sites can be treated as espionage.
